The Level 1 Winter 2026 cohort will receive a comprehensive introduction to the Orton-Gillingham Approach with live expert instruction, hands-on practice, and immediate classroom application strategies.
Grounded in the Science of Reading, this training emphasizes the critical components of structured literacy, including phonological awareness, sound-symbol relationships, the six syllable types, decoding and word recognition, phoneme-grapheme mapping, high frequency words, spelling, vocabulary, and reading fluency.
Participants will learn how to deliver multisensory, explicit, and sequential instruction that is diagnostic and responsive to student needs. Through a blend of seminar-style instruction, hands-on practice, and ready-to-implement strategies, educators leave prepared to support early literacy development in both whole-group and intervention settings.
This course meets the foundational training needs of classroom teachers, interventionists, and special educators and is aligned with the instructional shifts required by dyslexia legislation and early literacy mandates.
Upon successful completion of all days of this course, participants are eligible for 30 NYS CTLE credits and 2 graduate credits* through our partnership with Adams State University.

Morphology and Grammar Training In-person, April 2026
Our three-day morphology workshop is an intensive, research-based professional learning experience focused on upper-level literacy skills. Across three days, educators engage in explicit instruction grounded in the science of reading, with a focus on morphology, grammar, writing, and vocabulary development. Participants deepen their understanding of the layers of language, including phonology, orthography, morphology, syntax, and semantics, and learn how these systems work together to support proficient reading and writing. The workshop emphasizes practical application, equipping teachers with strategies to deliver remedial Orton-Gillingham instruction and explicitly teach morphemes, support vocabulary expansion, and strengthen written expression for students in grades 3–8.

- What are the benefits of the self-paced Level 1 training?
The self-paced course provides flexibility for educators while maintaining the rigor of live training. It includes interactive modules, video instruction, and practice activities aligned with the International Dyslexia Association’s Knowledge and Practice Standards.
- Is a certificate provided upon completion of the self-paced course?
Yes. Participants receive a certificate of completion that may be applied toward Structured Literacy Certification through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI).
- What is the EOG Training Refresher?
The refresher is an on-demand course for educators who have completed Edwards Orton-Gillingham training. It revisits key concepts, routines, and lesson structures to maintain fidelity of practice. It does not provide a certificate.
- Why choose a self-paced format?
Self-paced training allows educators to balance professional development with teaching schedules while accessing high-quality Orton-Gillingham–aligned instruction.
*Important Notes
- All practicum pathways are subject to acceptance and include an additional certification fee.
- Practicum enrollment is limited. Current waitlist extends to Fall 2027 for Level 1 and Fall 2028 for Levels 2 and 3.
- Graduate credit is offered through Adams State University for an additional fee. Credits cannot be combined across course levels.
- Certification through CERI requires passing the KPEERI exam. *Additional fee applies.
