Practicum: The Next Step to Certification
Where Practice Leads to Mastery
Our comprehensive EOG Practicum Program, spanning from Level 1 to Level 4, is essential for educators aiming to achieve Orton-Gillingham certification. This hands-on experience is crucial, as it bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Without it, trained teachers miss the opportunity to refine their skills in real-world settings.
Grounded in the science of reading, our supervised practicum ensures educators master the intricacies of teaching individuals with diverse abilities, significantly enhancing their effectiveness and their students’ literacy outcomes.
After successfully completing an EOG training, participants are eligible to apply for our Practicum Program, the next step to certification.

Who can reigster for practicum?
Individuals that have completed an EOG training in the last two years are eligible to apply at their corresponding training level. For example, if you took our 30 HR course one calendar year ago, you are eligible to apply for Level 1 Practicum.
What can I expect after I apply?
Once your application is submitted, the EOG Practicum Team will review your documents. A determination will be sent to you via email with additonal details with two weeks of submission.
How is acceptance into the practicum program determined?
The EOG Practicum Team carefully reviews all applications to ensure candidates meet the eligibility requirements. Initially, they verify that applicants have successfully completed a course with EOG within the last two years. Once this is confirmed, the team evaluates whether the submission aligns with practicum requirements, such as school approval to record lessons, appropriate student information, and the applicant’s commitment as expressed in their letter of intent.
What do I do if my application is waitlisted?
Due to the extremely high demand for our practicum program, there is a possibility that your application may be waitlisted. If this occurs, you will be promptly added to our waitlist and notified as soon as a spot becomes available in the practicum program.
